New to Church

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we would love to welcome you to our church.  Hopefully our website helps you to find out what you need to know and answers some questions you may have but feel free to Contact Us directly if you need something else or just wanted to chat to someone.

Here is some key information about our Sunday gatherings which you might find helpful if you're new to church.

When & Where Does the Church Meet?

We currently meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30am in our purpose-built facility at Bethel Church - check out our Contact Us page for a map and the full address if you're not sure where we are.
There is a free car park outside the front of the church which is filled on a first come first serve basis. There is also plenty of free on-street parking nearby if the car park happens to be full.

What Should I Expect When I Visit?

Due to Covid-19, things are a little different to normal, but we can't wait to be able to resume our regular services fully once regulations relax! Despite the pandemic, you can still join us in-person by booking a seat online.

We have a Welcome Team on a Sunday morning who will be able to answer any of your questions and show you around. On a typical Sunday we have around 30 minutes of worship (generally singing) and then either our Pastor or another of the leaders will preach for around 30 minutes followed by another 10 minutes of singing.  We are a relaxed family church so there is no expectation for people to get involved although sometimes there might be the opportunity to do so. Tea, Coffee and Biscuits are served before and afterwards which is a great opportunity to get to know people.

What About My Children?

We have specific Junior Church programmes on a Sunday morning which children (from age 2 to 16) can go out to after around 20 minutes or so of joining in with the main worship service. Equally if a child wants to stay in the main service with their parent then that's fine as well, we are quite relaxed and embrace families with no expectation for children to sit in silence - in fact some don't even sit for very long!  For more details of our Youth & Children programme see our On a Sunday page. You are welcome to bring your children along on a Sunday evening to join in with the worship but there is no specific groups for children on an evening.

What Else Should I Know?

We are a quite relaxed group so expect to be welcomed when you come along.  There isn't a dress code and you don't even have to join in with what's going on!  If you'd like to speak to someone to get more information please visit our Contact Us page.
